We had Doug paint our entire interior walls and ceiling and replace about 600 sq ft of carpet with hardwood floors. His bid was about $8000 compared to about $11000 from each of 2 other bidders. Toward the end there was considerable angst on both sides about what was in, and what was not in, the bid. Doug felt he went far beyond what was required by his contract while we felt the job was not finished. We should have defined the job better. Most of the work was very well done, and we are now pleased with the overall result. However, we feel that error correction and cleanup were poorly done. Get all the details in writing.
